Understanding God’s Thoughts: Practical Progress Towards a Theory of Everything, by Dr Don Lincoln, in partnership with Havering AS – ONLINE

June 2, 2021 @ 7:30 pm

Albert Einstein

We are delighted that we are working with Havering Astronomical Society to present a talk by renowned particle physicist Dr Don Lincoln.

Einstein was famously disinterested in details, wanting to only know the big picture; he wanted to know the theory was the underpinnings of all other theories. In a poetic moment, he called this theory of everything “God’s Thoughts”. In this talk, Fermilab scientist Dr Don Lincoln will talk about the quest to find a theory of everything and will describe in practical terms what it will take to get there.

Dr Don Lincoln

Dr Don Lincoln is a Fermilab scientist and science popularizer. He is coauthor of over 1,500 scientific papers and was a member of the teams that discovered the top quark and the Higgs boson. He has also authored several books about physics aimed at a general audience and he hosts the Fermilab YouTube channel, where he has made over 150 videos on topics ranging from the quarks to the cosmos.
